Valentina Perez Tabares,
our friend,
was detained by ICE on October 11. We’re fighting to see she’s quickly released on bond and stays in PA while we wait for a judge to hear her case.

Valentina is our friend and our neighbor, and she doesn’t deserve this. She came to the U.S. legally in 2021 to care for children who adore her, and quickly became family. She lives in the Lehigh Valley, works full time on a valid work permit while going to school, and is trusted by families across the area.

What happened

On Sunday, October 11, Valentina was detained by ICE at Lehigh Valley International Airport while catching a domestic flight. She is now being held in Pennsylvania.

She has had an immigration case pending since 2022. ICE offered her $3,000 to accept deportation, with no guarantee of where she would be sent. She said no, so that a judge could hear her case.
